Missouri Immediate Notice to Pay or Quit | NonPayment of Rent

The Missouri Notice to quit or pay, in connection with Statute 535.010, is a form that is not required to be given by a landlord to the tenant when payment is late. This is done out of courtesy of the landlord to inform the lessee that a case may be brought against them in the future unless the balance is current. The tenant should make arrangement immediately with the landlord to catch-up and be paid in full or else they may be able to legally repossess the property.

How to Write

Step 1 – At the top of the form, fill in the county where the rental property is located. Enter the name(s) of the tenant(s) in the “To:” section.

Step 2 – Write the total amount of rent that is due, and then enter the address of the rental property (street, city, county, state, ZIP code).

Step 3 – Enter the number of days that the tenant has to pay the past due amount by, and then the date (DD, MM, YYYY) when that time period will expire on.

Step 4 – Print your name, and then provide your contact address/phone number.

Step 5 – After serving the notice, fill out the “Certificate of Service” section near the bottom of the form. Print your name, and then enter the date of service. Sign your name, and have the person who witnessed you serve the notice sign their name in the “Witness” field. Select the service method that was used.
